Human Resources Director Joseph Shorter named Vice President

Virginia Beach, VA - ICI Services Corporation announced today that the Board of Directors promoted Human Resources Director Joseph Shorter to Vice President during the April Annual Shareholders meeting.  

“This recognition is long overdue” ICI CEO Jay Harrison said. “Joseph has demonstrated a high degree of professionalism in supporting the company’s growth and new requirements that comes with being a large business.”

In the company’s recent organization change, Joseph now reports to Executive Vice President for Corporate Development Mike McCarley and is responsible for recruiting, personnel administration, creation and communication of policies and procedures, and the integration of new employees to the company. Joseph is also ICI’s Corporate Ethics Officer.

Joseph brings over 20 years of senior leadership experience in human resources management. Before joining ICI Services, he served as Director of Human Resources for Apogee Solutions, a multi-state federal contractor headquartered in Chesapeake, VA. He has also held Human Resources leadership positions with Shore Health System in Easton, MD and Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, WY, and served as Chief Human Resources Officer for the Norfolk Community Services Board in Norfolk, VA.

Joseph earned a Juris Doctorate degree from Regent School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, History, and Economics from the University of Virginia at Wise, in Wise, VA.  He is a graduate of Tidewater Community College, and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by the Society for Human Resources Management.  He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and was certified a Mediator of Workplace Disputes by the Justice Center of Atlanta.
