Navy Taps ICI Services' Shipboard Firefighting and Damage Control Expertise

Virginia Beach, VA - ICI Services Corporation announced today that it has been awarded a five-year prime contract to continue providing engineering support for shipboard fire protection, damage control, firefighting, recoverability, chemical-biological protection, and chemical-biological decontamination systems.

The effort is in support of Code 336 of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division, the Navy’s Acquisition Engineering Agent and In-Service Engineering Agent for Damage Control Equipment and Systems, Fire Protection Systems and Equipment, and Damage and Fire Recoverability.

For more than 15 years, ICI Services has been a leader in providing Naval Shipboard Fire Protection Systems engineering – from initial concepts and testing to modifications and lessons learned, as well as assessing ship vulnerability and recoverability. The effort falls within the company’s Technical Services Operations Center and will be led by Vice President and Technical Director Jim Hill.  Work will be performed in the greater Philadelphia PA, Norfolk VA and Washington DC areas, as well as onboard ships and at various Navy facilities.
