Dr. John Sahlin Joins ICI Services as Vice President and Technical Director

Virginia Beach, VA - ICI Services Corporation announced today that John Sahlin has joined the corporation as Vice President and Technical Director. He will report to ICI President and CEO, Scott Gray.

“ICI Services is very excited to bring Dr. Sahlin aboard as our newest executive,” Gray said. “What I consider an outstanding strategic hire, Dr. Sahlin will lead our growth efforts in Information Warfare services and solutions.”  

Dr. Sahlin has over 20 years of cybersecurity and information technology experience designing, building, and sustaining distributed computing networks for commercial and DoD clients. His areas of professional expertise include cybersecurity, cloud computing, modeling and simulation, system architecture, system dynamics, and systems engineering.

Dr. Sahlin is a 1993 graduate of the US Naval Academy and earned a PhD and MS in Systems Engineering from The George Washington University and a MA in International Relations from the University of Maryland. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and Project Management Professional and is a Professorial Lecturer at The George Washington University, teaching graduate courses in Secure Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity and Governance, Information Policy, and Technology Innovation.

Before joining ICI Services, Dr. Sahlin served as the Defense and Security Group Technical Director for the Engility Corporation, where he led internal Research and Development programs including Engility’s Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity offerings to the DoD. He was the lead architect of the cybersecurity and network architecture baseline for the Navy’s next generation guided missile frigate (FFG(X)) shipbuilding program. While working for Cabrillo Technologies and SAIC, he served as PMW 160 Chief Engineer for the Navy’s Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) Future program. He led efforts to determine future networking architecture for LPD 17 and LCS shipbuilding programs and to establish CANES requirements for a wide range of ship classes. While working for Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Services, he served as the Chief Technology Architect for the County of San Diego.
